Last Friday the Ara Visions on Campus restaurant was the scene for the latest stunning Ronald McDonald House Supper Club dinner. The Ara hospitality staff treated two lucky tables of guests to a stunning dinner.
Eleven Ara culinary tutors donated their time and services to look after their 16 paying guests, to support the supper club's fundraising effort for the families of sick children. Ara Patisserie tutor Adele Hingston was one of the tutors helping out.
“Many tutors in the hospitality department wanted to be involved for the night. It was really nice to get everyone together and it is great to support the Ronald McDonald charity.”

Dinner started with canapes and a tortellini of confit duck, with pearl onion veloute. Seared scallops continued to impress with spiced carrot gel and crispy kale, followed by a lamb short loin main featuring confit shoulder croquette, Jerusalem artichoke risotto, oyster mushrooms and jus. A salted caramel dessert was the perfect finish to the dinner. Ara donated all the products.

"We pride ourselves on being able to connect with the wider community in this way and we know that we are privileged to be working with high quality food that we can showcase to the public coupled with high level service," Cookery and Bakery manager Ryan Marshall said.
Ara raised $2,400, which goes straight to the Ronald McDonald charity.
The Ronald McDonald House holds the Supper Club event at various homes and restaurants around Christchurch, to help families whose children are sick and in hospital.
