20 Oct 2015
CPIT will experience a sneak preview taste of Diwali before Christchurch stages the hugely popular Indian festival on 24th October.
The delightful junior Giddha dance group returns to CPIT's Rakaia Centre at the Madras St Campus tomorrow, Tuesday 20 October, for a lunchtime event. Matching the Giddha folkdance of the Punjabi region for colour and energy, the Bollywood Angels will also light up the stage.
Performances from 12.10pm will be followed by traditional vegetarian snacks by Coriander's restaurant and henna hand painting.
Both groups will then join some 350 performers for the Singapore Christchurch Diwali 2015 at the Horncastle Arena on 24th October. Doors open at 3pm and performances begin at 5pm right through to 9pm. Tickets, $10 (under 5s free), are available on the door – first in, first served.
