The results are in.... Computing have won the Ara Lympics Shield for 2018, taking the title from 2017’s champion Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health.
This year Ara Lympics was bigger than ever before, with fourteen different events spread across the Christchurch City, Woolston and Timaru campuses. The events, which ran between 4-13 April, were organised to coincide with the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Over 170 students threw themselves into a variety of sports, games and activities including: soccer, dodgeball, basketball, netball and a quiz. The most popular activities were futsal, volleyball and a new addition to Ara Lympics, PlayStation 3.
This annual inter-department tournament stemmed from an idea shared at Student Council in 2016, for classmates to compete together to score points for their department.
