About health promotion
Health promoters take a holistic view to health. Their aim is to achieve optimal health and wellbeing for all through sustainable behaviour change, supported by changes in physical, social, and economic environments. They work with individuals, groups and often whole communities, empowering them to make healthier choices such as increasing their physical activity level.
The incorporation of physical activity in everyday life, alongside other healthy lifestyle choices, reduces the rist of developing non-communicable chronic diseases, positively impacting on both physical and mental health.
