About sport science

Sport science is a discipline that studies the application of scientific principles and techniques with the aim of improving sporting performance. Sport scientists work in a variety of laboratory and field settings to optimise human capability. The main areas of focus include sport psychology, exercise physiology, sports nutrition and biomechanics. More recently, sports technology and performance analysis have become a major part of the sport science approach.
